The Passion of the Disc, the idea of accurracy put together with a thrown disc. If you really get into the game, play many different locations and throw in all kinds of weather. You will definitly learn the feel of the game.
Or its just a heck of a way to enjoy a day out in the open. Playing a round alone can give you alot of reflection time but having a few friends there to share in the moment is what gives the game such a great down home feel.

This slide show is from the Malahat disc golf course, and the event is the 07-08 duck golf tournament. I played all right but not that well. It is a heavily wooded course, so one must play with many trees along the way.
There are also three that I can think of as hazards where losing a disc is possible. On the 2nd hole, there is a severe right-side downhill where the disc may get trapped in heavy brush down a steep hill/cliff.
There is a seasonal river. In the winter/ spring, when there is a lot of rain, there is little chance of finding it until spring. The last is on the 18th, and the right is the parking lot. Now you may not lose a disc on this one, and I have hit a car on that drive and into the parking lot two other times( no hit car on those), but it is an excellent course for a challenge and a bit of exercise.
There is quite a bit of up and down on a hilled wooded area. I recommend going to the Malahat for a game on a sunny day.
